You got that right. But then what can little guy like me do anything about it? I cannot afford a lawyer. I did go to free legal counsel. Basically they tell me unless I hire a lawyer with litigation experience, there is very little chance to recoup the loss. A lawyer with litigation experience charged $2000 right off the bet , before they even bother to look at your case. And still no assurance of winning the case. The builder contractual building variance clause very powerful to cover a lot of things including square footage variation and constuction requirement change during the course of construction. Too late for me, but I hope other people learn form my expensive mistake from being naive.
