Last pic shows ho high the elevation is - it'll appear pretty tall.

This is a really cool tower - architectural variation by actually doing something different with the structure, not just tinkering with cladding.

yesterday when i drove by there was huge flames shooting up the side of the building, in this pic where the wood is, there were a few pnels of it on fire. about 10 minutes later when i tried to pass the firetrucks were on scene and all the workers were across the street looking. no sign of the smoke or flames though.

Thanks.
The gap between the tower and those big columns is pretty cool.

The execution looks great so far. Hopefully this inspires a few more buttress towers.

they have some paint samples. Not a great pic, the top one matches the window frames and the bottom one is much more brown. Also some white in some spots now.

The white may be a base coat or sealant

Fingers are crossed: we will soon see if this design 'feature' is good or a gimmick. One thing, being built up on the rise, this is going to have a taller presence than 33 floors.

From a design perspective, I think that those who like it have to be receptive to somewhat heavy brutalist architecture (it'll be a top-heavy building).
Those who aren't, probably won't like it.

There are similarities to old brutalist buildings with prominently exposed structural elements:
