Yup, I went to school in Kitchener-Waterloo and was never fond of the above-ground power ('hydro') lines everywhere. In residential areas with street trees, the damned power lines would force the trees to be cut into weird shapes to avoid hitting the lines. I am glad this is not the modus operandi in Edmonton.

Great photo. Interesting (and seldom seen) perspective.

This specific angle kind of reminds me of downtown Sydney, Australia near the port. I don't expect anyone else to agree with me lol .

I like that angle because you can trace the layers of the skyline from East to West. Further to the east you have the original downtown, 100-120 years old, in the centre you get the mid-20th century CBD, and then to the west the late 20th century and 21st century developments of Coal Harbour.

Who needs the mountains - this is Vancouver's best angle. PLUS: it allows one to imagine that the towers are significantly taller than they are.

Easy there Chad. How can you get so excited about Toronto when it has just as many generic condo towers as other Canadian cities?

I'm not generally a fan of Vancouver's skyline, but this is impressive. I think the fact that the older mid-late 20th century office towers are visible to break up the sea green glass helps.

This is Vancouver's "main" skyline, the office core, analogous to the Toronto lakefront view. Most office towers are arranged in a clump fronting the Burrard Inlet. It doesn't show up in pictures as much as other cities because the mountains are more unusual/scenic and to see them you point the camera the other way.

Vancouver House has upped the game on the other side though. It looks impressive from a number of angles. I find a lot of False Creek area buildings nondescript but not that one.

Totally agree - always been my favourite view of Vancouver’s skyline.
