Who knows? Changes coming daily.

UA flew three flights out of YYC today. 2 to SFO and 1 to DEN.

The first SFO had 4 passengers the second had 8. DEN had 10.

WS has extended its international suspension until May 5.

LGW resumes May 5
CDG resumes May 7
DUB resumes May 6
FCO delayed launch to June 4.

All subject to change of course.

Good luck. Hate to say it but airplanes especially to countries hit hard are going to be empty for a while. FCO is a write off for atleast a year for anyone.

Agreed. I suspect WS won't operate FCO or BCN this summer, unless things drastically improve. It's unfortunate, as advance bookings for Rome were very strong.

Also looking at how things are in the US, it could be a while before general tourism resumes there as well.

I believe LGW and to an extent CDG may resume service at some point. Other than that, too early to tell.

From the article above.

Here is a list of airport changes announced Monday:

Concourses A and D will be closed.
All domestic departures and arrivals will operate from Concourse B and C.
Domestic check-in areas, bag drop and baggage carousel operations will be consolidated.
The International Terminal Building will continue to accept international arrivals.
All international departures will check-in at the International Terminal building but pre-board screening will take place at Concourse C.
Travellers will depart from gates D70/71.
Parkade 1 long-term and short-term parking remains open.
Parkade 2 long-term is closed, but short-term parking is still available.
The changes will take place at midnight on Monday.

This essentially brings the operation back 20 years before concourse A was built.

Security screenings at US airports are down 93% year over year. Gives you a sense of the scale of this crisis.

BA is tentatively resuming YYZ, YVR, YUL on April 18 and YYC on April 19. So there's that.

I wonder if BA will be ramping up fights in April?? "Heathrow will close one of its runways next week as air traffic continues to fall globally amid the coronavirus pandemic". https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...e-runways-week-coronavirus-outbreak.html

Yes. KLM will now only serve YYZ 3x Weekly.

Not sure how I missed it, but WS also updated its winter schedule recently and completely removed the 767 beyond October. All routes this past winter (CUN / MBJ / PUJ) that ran on the 767 have been replaced with the 7M8.

Also WS reduced BOS to 6x weekly from June 22-Sep 6 (Same period AC is on the route). Still runs daily May 14-June 21 and Sep 7-Oct 11.

Now May 3 for BA.

How big is this market to support two new daily flights in light of the current situation. Sounds too optimistic.

We will be lucky if either WS or AC launches BOS. Since this is expected to last until at least end of June, the summer will be slow recovery. We will be lucky to get trans-border and some international service back in summer.

So much for YYC being one of the 4 designated airports for overseas flights. No overseas flights left in April after today.

WS latest schedule update is crazy. They've now cancelled most of its international/transborder routes basically until further notice from June 1.

However LGW / CDG / DUB and FCO are currently unaffected.

Edit: May have been a glitch in their system. Many US routes previously not available have re-appeared.

WS pilots got internal notice yesterday of a lay-off bid. Of note it was stated in the notice that 767 positions are no longer available and all 767 pilots must bid new positions. Sounds like the 767s have offically flown their last revenue flights at Westjet already.

If they need capacity more than the 787s which have been delivered already, I imagine 787 leases will be far easier to find.

Good effort trying to keep up! Even during the time you took to post there were changes... I just cannot see any flights to Europe other than a trickle of flights this summer. Even if things start to turn around very few people are going to be travelling anywhere let alone Europe.
