Drove by the site a few days ago and noticed that this one is now at grade with Bronson. Should start to really rise up fast in the next few weeks after they finish pouring the ground level floors/walls.

It's above grade now, this building should have a very positive impact on this area of Bronson.

Taken on October 5. It appears they have reached the top of the lower podium and will soon begin pouring the regular floor plates.

I don't think these renderings have ever been posted on this thread, but these are the most up to date (as of 2015). They're only slightly different than the previous renderings shown on Post #59.

It's definitely starting to have some noticeable impact on the skyline. I haven't been by the site in some time, but it's really moving along at a steady pace and I think it's about 50% of the way up now.

Harley's photo really solidified for me how epic the sunset/river/Gatineaus/Lebreton etc views will be from the north/northwest units in the building. It appears from the uses in between this site and the escarpment that they will be mostly (if not totally) safe from obstruction.

The view from the upper floors of the SVH hospital next door is one of my favourite in the City.

The view IS epic. How do I know? It was my view before it became obstructed by the new building at 192 Bronson. I found this forum months ago when I realized the building was going to be tall. But how tall? Well, my worst case scenario is now reality and my once amazing and unobstructed view is gone. I moved into this apartment because it had such an awe inspiring view. Truly breathtaking. Being on my balcony felt like I was alone in the sky (I don't have a balcony neighbour and I'm on the top floor). The first intrusion to my much coveted privacy was the security camera they installed over my balcony. Not cool. And it's just been downhill from there. I fully understand that I do not own the sky! And that change is inevitable. But sometimes you have to remember that these new builds impact the lives around them. I've rearranged my entire apartment so my couch and bed won't be in the line of sight of my new neightbours. I now close my curtains, which was something I never had to do before. I've had to call 311 several times when the construction crews would leave glaring lights on 24/7 that lit up my apartment at night. I mean, lucky for the people who will now have the full, unobstructed view - but it comes at the cost of someone losing it. All I can be is grateful that at least I had it for a while. C'est la vie.

Oof.. That's some bad luck. Not as bad as the buyers or luxury condos at Soho Champagne that are now staring out at teenagers twenty feet away though!

Sorry about the loss of your view. And welcome to the forum!

Holy. Crap. A quick google made me aware of what you were referencing. That would be SO upsetting. I have always been thankful that at least there are four lanes of Bronson between me and any other building. I also don't OWN my place (and awesomely my rent is low for this area). Plus, it seems like there will only be a balcony on the top level on this side, so I'll hopefully still feel mostly "alone" while I'm outside (except maybe for window gawkers).

Honestly, aside from the fact that I'm losing a good chunk of my view and some privacy, the whole process of watching a building go up has been FASCINATING - really, really neat to have a front row seat to witness the precision and skill. I'm amazed at how quickly things happen and how efficiently they work.

Thanks for the warm welcome to the forum and for humouring my mini-rant. It felt good to vent.

Let me know if you'd like any more pictures!

This building is surprisingly visible from many spots in and around Centretown. A great little infill and appropriate height for the location IMO.

The build quality looks very good for rental apartments.

Remind me why Claridge is getting away with the poor finishing quality on their projects??

Great pics. Especially love the last one. It's rare we get a new building that actually impacts the skyline at multiple angles.

Nice to see a bit of glass in that sea of concrete and brick. Ottawa has managed to keep a nice mixture of different building materials in the CBD compared to other cities that had huge 'booms' of glass towers in the 2000's. Would love to see QE towers seeing a bit more competition from this angle as they continue to dominate.
