Yeah, makes sense.

They recently amended the map of City centre to expand SE to include a small section around 96th and 140th street due to the planned 140th SkyTrain station. Most of the changes we'll see in the update might just be some new rezoning around there.

Amazing that a 40 plus building is now routine in Surrey Central.
Just received the Preliminary Notice of Proposed Development. Apparently it's three High Rise and two Low Rise buildings. Phase 1 is a 40 storey tower with ground level commercial.

Yes, I think so.
But that could be an interim measure and may evolve into a higher capacity system when necessary.

TransLink has it listed as 'suspended' - so on the backburner but not actually cancelled. Hopefully the B-Line / RapidBus (ack I still don't care for that name) does well for the next decade 'cause it'll likely take that long before money comes along to upgrade it.

I like the RapidBus which runs down King George, I just wish it would go all the way down to White Rock.

Give it three months, maybe six. It's not like anybody talks about "GM Place" anymore.

This sounds like the former Brick Site across 104 at City Parkway. If the notification has been sent out, it will be going to Council soon.

It certainly is. It's the old Brick building, with parking lot, and the lot to the North of the parking lot that is a grass field, but is currently occupied by temporary housing.

It seems like with this project, they will finally be able to push City Parkway through 104th Ave to connect it to the exiting section on the north side.

The city should build an outdoor Stadium where the Lions training Center is. Then have the Lions and a CPL team share it. That area would work a lot better than Langley.

Are we talking about the same property?

How do you get 1 - 40 story and some low rise buildings as well on 40,000 sq feet.

if you have the notice, can you post it?

CPL was in talks a while ago with Surrey for a stadium, but it isn't looking promising. With cancelling and postponing a lot of other amenities, I wouldn't bank on seeing a stadium go in (outside of Bear Creek Park). And from what I've heard Langley is definitely a front runner for a CPL team.

You guys may be confusing the Safeway property site with the former Brick property site.

Here you go. Definitely the Old Brick site.

Great update. Another tower to add to the list of growing proposals. Thank you for sharing.

The north side is where the Surrey homeless housing is located.... When are they scheduled to move?

Stadium project rumblings for a prime Surrey Centre site are on-going. It's very much alive and much preferred over Langley.

Hearing a site is under-contract already too with a big backer.

Any idea as to where this potential site is located?

Very close to City Hall apparently.

10,000 seat indoor stadium (sports/entertainment/conventions).
