My wife says the same thing. Plus I also have to hold the door some days. and a couple of time had to go in and help her. you kinda get used to doing it without thinking.

I'm amazed at how many times I've seen designers and architects work in a fantasy bubble. They should be forced to live or work in their projects afterward, in order to do a proper post mortem. Otherwise, how are they ever going to learn?

Yup, working with Arch and Interior designers all these years and even having worked at Stantec. I was never able to get through to people the need for true accessible facilities.

I have nothing to add for the accessibility part but I always tell interior designers to please please PLEASE put baby change stations in mens washrooms. There's a good number of womens washrooms that don't have baby change stations even and it's way worse for mens washrooms.

Proposed rezoning of Station Pointe Lands in Belvedere



January 22, 2020

Edmontonians are invited to a drop-in engagement session to learn more about the proposed rezoning of a significant portion of the City-owned Station Pointe lands, located southeast of Fort Road between 66 Street NW and 129 Avenue NW.

Date: Wednesday, January 29
Time: 6 – 8 p.m.
Location: Belvedere Community Hall, 13223 62 Street NW

The City is proposing to rezone a significant portion of the Station Pointe lands from Direct Development Control Provision (DC1) to Low Rise Apartment Zone (RA7) and Medium Rise Apartment Zone (RA8). The introduction of standard zones would allow for more development options at Station Pointe. This change would mean a move towards lower density townhomes and low to mid rise apartments with the opportunity for street level commercial rather than the original mix of commercial and high rise residential development envisioned for the site.

The engagement session will be an opportunity to learn more about the proposal and share your views with the City. Feedback will be summarized in a report to City Council when the proposal goes to a future City Council Public Hearing for a decision.

The City-owned Station Pointe lands redevelopment is part of the Fort Road Old Town Master Plan, approved in 2002 with the goal of revitalizing the historic Fort Road area.

I'm guessing rentals first (if the momentum isn't stopping) and would love to see Parkview and Shift start already. The first Warehouse District highrises west of 104 Street in many many years. Major game-changers.

I believe they are waiting for their Building Permit to get approved. Should be close.
