Looks like someone has driven into the sprinkler tree room at either Scotia Place or Commerce Place. EFS says a building at 100st and 11ave. Water is pooling.

Apparently a pipe burst at City Centre Mall. (Fairweathers).

Yeah, the east parkade has some pockets of water. They diverted people in the walkway of the LRT tunnel to avoid the pooling water.

My friend has just brought to my attention that the city of Edmonton tower has an extremely heavy door to the washroom that she has to ram with her wheel chair to get in? Does anyone know if there are FULLY accessible washrooms available? Because if not that is a massive fail for a city building.... She complained and they said they'd get back to her and never did.

Expedited Infill Pilot

The Expedited Infill Pilot is a partnership between the City of Edmonton and the Infill Development in Edmonton Association (IDEA). The pilot will operate for two years and involves two components:

● A Builder Education Program ​to improve knowledge of infill development, encourage high-standard construction practices, design basics and communication practices.

● An Expedited Infill Review Process to​ provide expedited development permit review timelines for eligible participants.

A compliance mechanism has also been developed to ensure that builders adhere to the good construction and application submission practices outlined in the education program.

Barrier-free washroom doors should not be that hard to open. Seems like something needs to be fixed.

She was joking that she should be hired as a washroom consultant on every new building constructed.... It has been close to 15 years now that I've been awkwardly holding open women's washrooms doors for her all over the city...

This is such a cool project. It's great to have a principled city builder see the greater overall value to take on something like this. We need more of these types of projects

doesn't NAIT own this land here? if so, they should really mow this eyesore down and put up student housing like has been proposed somewhere around this?

My wife had the same problem at the Stantec tower. And when she worked for AHS at the CN tower they did not have an accessible washroom on her floor. They may be accessible but not friendly. My wife mentioned every designer should spend some real time in a wheel chair or use a walker. Best accessible washrooms are at Paramount Fine foods. even the inside doors have auto openers.

Was at the airport Yesterday afternoon. one of the revolving door heaters blew a line. water pouring out by AC check in.
