Have you guys been to Toronto, Dublin, Lisbon, Zagreb, Frankfurt, Portland, berlin, Milan, Budapest, Prague, Stuttgart, Zurich....and obviously others that I haven't experienced? Because from my experience, these "trams" are pretty damn awesome. A "tram" provides a reliable consistent route with decent capacity. So please for the love of god can the dinosaurs that have never been on public transit unless it's a hop on hop off in Palm Springs or Honolulu please SIT DOWN.

hey dino-lover, I'm standing up right now as I take LRT downtown. For the love of god, can you please realize that Edmonton is building these trams to the 'far-flung' suburbs. In all the cities you've named, they don't do that. Trams that stop frequently are used in the core areas... LRT or regional trains are then used to connect the outer areas.
We have bus service for local coverage. LRT for connecting nodes.
Yes, I've rode transit in a few places you've name, and many more that you haven't. I'm also a fairly regular user of transit in our city, less so now that in the past, but still I think I have fucking clue.
But hey, lets keep building shitty transit in Edmonton, and keep getting low transit usage. The people that have no other choice will continue to have no other choice, and those that might flip to transit should it be an attractive enough choice will continue to drive.
