The bus drivers are pretty good about learning to take corners with the appropriate angle. Such as 13th & Albert.

That is correct. 11th is too narrow to make that turn from the right hand lane without crossing the centre line of 11th or running over the sidewalk. When it was one-way there was not issue.

They actually are, except when idiot drivers go past the stop bar or aren't in their lane. I ride around that corner on the bus every day.

I was shocked that they all died. They built special soil cells to give them a extra chance in the urban street environment. Yes, we did have a 2 year drought. That combined with insane amount of ice melter Harvard users did in the trees. A little extra watering would have saved them.

Harvard has killed nearly every tree in front of nearly every building they manage downtown. They cut down the fairly mature ash trees in front of Tower 3 before construction and mostly replaced them with dead or half dead trees.

Wow, it's so stark now in comparison. I forgot how mature those trees were. That's a real shame. I miss the store fronts on 12th too, believe it or not.

That happens all too often as you know. A lot of drivers don't even know what that 'X' means! But the city could do a better job of repainting the lines in the 'X' more often. Maybe even use a different colour paint, like yellow? I have been a transit rider for years, and that was a corner that I used to go around once day. When the bus drivers are squeezed for space, even though they do their best not to, they sometimes still go over the curb, and with that corner having a lot of pedestrians, they don't want to run over their feet. Ditto for the buses turning right from Lorne Street onto 11th Avenue eastbound across from SGI Tower.

If you mean yellow like what is used as dividing lines on undivided highways, that colour probably has to be avoided because it's illegal to cross solid yellow lines.

Actual yellow? Maybe. But the road standard for markings you're allowed to drive over at will in the right context is white.

So what would be the alternative if they didn't sell it to this company? It was obvious it was going to be a parking lot once the project fell apart. There's not much of a market for anything in Regina right now and I don't see that changing soon.

Sobey's wants to build a liquor store on the vacant lot at 13th and Retallack. If it gets approval, the old white building adjacent the alleyway (currently Carla Beck's constituency office) will have to be demolished to make way for it. The city is seeking comment on this development proposal, deadline January 23.

I generally dislike liquor stores in neighbourhood contexts. They attract a lot of vagrancy. The Broad Street liquor store closed because of all the homeless congregating there. Same with the one on 20th Street in Saskatoon.

With the YWCA going in a block north that whole section of Cathedral is going to become quite greasy.

Sobeys is sure going all out on liquor stores. How long until they offer to buy the SLGA's wholesale business?

It looks like they are designing it to match their Safeway location there. (The fight to get a better looking front on the revamped grocery store was worth it.)
