Sorry but IMHO this is not disappointing. The housing market is still overpriced so hopefully this can encourage them to lower their ridiculous prices.

Good on Hawkins calling for the project to be scrapped. I know this will probably just mean Brandt expands their current space but how awesome would it be if this revived talk of 1855 Rose or a similar type of project?

Congrats Regina on your upcoming downtown development and a big shout out to mayor Michael Fougere!

The potential buyer of the lot is Royalty Developments. CTV News reached out to Royalty Developments about its plans for the location but did not receive a response. The conditional offer to purchase reveals the potential buyer wants to use the land for "surface grade parking."

The mayor of Regina Michael Fougere said the fact that there is interest in purchasing the property is good news for the city.

- Is the current Red Sox stadium in need of repair or replacement?
- Is the fan base of the Red Sox outgrowing the current stadium?
- Why do we need a farmer's market on these lands instead of the park in the summer and Centennial Market in the fall/winter?

Actually, the Regina Farmer's Market is held in the Core Ritchie Neighbourhood Centre in the fall and winter months.

This land is too valuable and important and must have something more dynamic built on it. I work downtown and a lot of the success of the market in the summer months is because of the location. Wednesday markets are very popular with office workers. I doubt any of us could go all the way over the railway tracks on our lunch breaks to shop the market. As for the baseball park, I feel it is a waste of land that will sit empty for long periods of time and will not benefit the area very much.

Would be cool if Harvard, in the development of the Novia Cafe property on the corner of the Plaza made a main floor Farmers Market space so that during the winter some vendors could be in there permanently and then come summer, it could open up onto the Plaza and compliment the other set up vendors. Or, just some main floor retail or restaurant to compliment the market too.

The railyards is a nice long term goal, but the effort and money needs to be going to downtown itself.

Want a permanent farmer's market? There's room downtown. Want retail, office, and residential? Plenty of room downtown.

A sports facility in the railyards is a wasted opportunity.
