Decent looking buildings but honestly I'm really not comfortable with the idea of redeveloping existing affordable apartments in a city centre that has so many empty fields and parking lots. Sure it's a big net increase but Surrey is not at a point where it needs to displace housing to create more. Hoping Council and Rize get some real backlash on this.

Backlash under the McCallum regime is irrelevant to him and his four lackeys who completely tune out any feedback from Surrey-ites on any front unless it supports their narrow agenda. I don't imagine any development of any kind would be an exception to this.

35 story highrise on 75a and 120st in Delta has denied in a 5-2 vote. The lot is currently zoned to 6 stories.

I meant central to the South Westminster Neighbourhood, not what's proposed within the neighbourhood.
Manson Canal starts at Tannery Park.

If the canal goes ahead along Manson Canal, I could see a shift in the development plans.
Right now the canal is the border between "Fraser River Waterfront / Scott Road Commercial" and "Light Industrial Business Park"
- I could see that border move south.
Or, if additional canals are constructed branching to the north from Manson Canal, that would get them further into those precincts.
The canals wouldn't be on the main high street (Old Yale Rd.) in South Westminster.

Here is a crazy idea, keep that area industrial!

Seriously, this location screams industrial and event (fairgrounds, amusement park, etc...) purposes.

Seems to me that Surrey already has enough existing low density town centres to focus on.

Based on them holding the announcement in Cloverdale, I think it's safe to say the new hospital will be located in that area.

King George Hub is missing one tower, show here as 'Phase C'

It's the generic tower on the left immediately behind the existing Coast Capital Savings office building.

Also One Central (134m | 46fl) is currently excavating. Not U/C yet but keep it on the radar.
