The rest on your link are under construction but site has no data on height or that matter any details or diagram on those projects. But then Skyscraper does not have data or diagrams on many residential and office high-rises in Edmonton.

Thanks.

I don't draw and my main concern is just to have an entry for each building. There are heights gleaned from C2E. They are just listed as estimated.

It looks like the MacLaren is pretty much complete. One of the storefronts along 102nd Avenue is being temporarily occupied by a Flannel Foxes popup shop. While I have some reservation's about the Buena Vista Apartments facade reconstruction, I can't deny that its nice to see it on the corner again;

How tall would that have been? It's like Babylonian gardens or a Ziggurat on steroids.

I count 27 stories before the spire. Which makes sense given the time this would have been proposed.

That tower had me thinking of Barad-dûr, the tower from Lord of the Rings!

As for the original "ziggurat" design, this is probably the first I've ever seen. And thank God this didn't get built.

What I *do* remember that prior to the current city hall's design, Gene Dub came up an earlier proposal during the late 1980s which had something like 4 cones shaped like volcanoes (they were actually meant to represent teepees). I remember seeing a model of the original proposal with cones on display at Southgate Mall. And I also remember reading/hearing how unpopular that design was with the public. Apparently, it was so unpopular that Dub had to change it to the current one with the two pyramids.

I'll take our current City Hall over any of the others, no questions asked.

Same here. The pyramid looks great when lit up at night as well. Wish it were lit up more often though. Seems as though most days they leave it off.

This is the original proposal I was talking about in my last post. It's also the only image I could find online. Ugh, does it look fugly!

The source is in the EJ:

Yes it is. It's a timeless design. Which is remarkable considering the year it was built (early 90's).
