is Shape purpoaely delaying completion for tower 1 to avoid competition with private rental owners in the same building?

It'll prob be delayed, but doesn't seem by too much...is the parkade accessible yet?

For the public? Nope. Residents have to pull into the construction checkpoint gate and show their fob to then get waved down. There's fencing all through the parkade so that you can only get to the residential parking on P5 and P6.

There's a fob activated gate to move from the commercial parking to the residential, but it's held open for the time being.

Your last 2 photos are just renderings, there is no video screen in place at the moment.

As I said, they removed the 17 from the display so it's clearly delayed.

If Sporting Life is the only retailer that can open sometime in the next two weeks, would they make a fence maze to reach the store and leave the rest of the mall fenced off?

Is access to the store pretty easy from the street? they made a fence maze for the Vancity branch which seems to be open.

If I was Sporting Life I would hope to be getting some sort of discount on the first few months of the lease because the foot traffic isn't going to be that great when they're so segregated from the rest of the mall and the parkade isn't even inaccessible yet.

Chatime is also opening at The Amazing Brentwood.

Re Sporting Life, yeah they should get some kind of discount, it takes a lot of money to open a store especially in a brand new market for them.
