First they liquidate the TYC's and Stereo nightclubs, and now, they can't even afford their own proper signage?

They might have good buffet food, good hotel rooms and safe interiors, but CanadInn's (outside of us born and raised Winnipeggers) would probably never appeal seriously to anyone outside of the Perimetre, as a place to stay.

The least they could do, is figure out what "branding" means. The batman spotlight on one of Winnipeg's tallest and most identifiable buildings (especially going along Portage) is a brutally bad example of it.

It's like replacing Itchy and Scratchy with Worker and Parasite - what the hell is this?!

It's a dog turd in the middle of a flower garden.

I love that blue flower.

Some modest-to-tall towers on South Main would be great to fill in the big gaps on either side of CMHR.

What is looked like at end of April.

I think the core is hold on pending catch up of steel work. Which seems to be a bit slow going. Otherwise they've done a lot of work on the 330 main part. Building is enclosed from what I can tell.

The rest of the site area has been prepped/demod. Work on the skywalk connection area is ongoing.

I think expectations were shaped somewhat by the fact that the footings were already in place for this tower, I know I was expecting this tower to rise fast but it has been pretty slow going. Surprisingly so.

I think it's because the "Devil is in the details". Once they get close to completing the podium, it should rise at a much more considerable pace.

Hey peeps, longtime lurker, first time caller. I am working on this project and thought it pertinent to inform everyone that there is serious talk of this building being capped off at 22 floors due to so-far very weak interest in rentals. Word is, if a certain amount of suites aren’t rented by such-and-such a date, it may no longer be the tallest building in Winnipeg. As I hear more I will post.

I call bullshit. There's no rental line ups for a project like this until completion. Like, what, they're going to start renting lower floors during construction?

Hmm something sounds not right about that. First off They aren’t actively marketing these rentals and secondly who is going to sign a rent lease agreement before the building is years away from being completed. True North didn’t start marketing 225 Carlton until this June, up till then there was very little information released about it. A rental building is not contingent on sales like a condo development is. Thanks for sharing, hopefully you are mistaken.
