I take Lewvan Drive to work each day. I think they've been making pretty good progress. Cutting out the old concrete is time-consuming. Installing the molds for the new concrete is time-consuming. Pouring new concrete is fairly fast but then it has to be allowed to cure at least a certain amount. Then soil needs to be backfilled, landscaping corrected, and of course, all the debris from the construction needs to be cleaned up during this time, too. Then the asphalt has to be repaired along the curb, unless the roadway is being repaved immediately. (For efficiency purposes, it looks like they're getting all the curb work done first, then repaving permanently.)
Every day I can see visible progress, so I think they've done a good job. This stuff takes time.
Much of the eastbound side of Lewvan Drive is now repaved. Once that's done, I suspect they'll switch to repaving the westbound side in one fell swoop and the project will be done.
Traffic's been flowing decently well through there (I commute with the dual-lane direction, thankfully)... certainly much better than my other commuting alternative, Ring Road, which was okay in the morning southbound when they were doing the southeast bridge but is always bad northbound during the day and is terrible southbound with the northwestern bridge under construction now. The only time I'll drive through there is after my evening university class is done. I avoid it at all other times. But it, too, will be done before long.
