Kings Crossing is within Edmonds town centre. Burnaby is making sure all the town centres have residential, retail and office space.

Edmonds isn't a major town centre, unlike Metrotown. For a small city, Burnaby definitely have many town centres, and they all have everything to make a good urban area work. Good planning and vision on the part of the city I have to say.

And Vancouver doesn't really have a town centre. Kerrisdale had the potential but wasted over the decades due to inactivity. Seeing Burnaby's success, Oakridge is planned but it will have a lot of catching up to do.

Metrotown is being made into downtown Burnaby. Then there are the town centres of Brentwood, Lougheed and Edmonds (the only one not anchored by a big mall). Edmonds has been mostly off people's radar while it's slowly been building up density (the future Southgate is on the right side).

A large Development Site? to the South of Kings Crossing

At the end of the video, noticed a large construction site? just to the south of Kings Crossing

That's right next to Southgate - it might be the social house part of it.

Yes, I believe that is all part of Ledingham Mcallisters redevelopment(Southgate). see the Dailyhive article below for more details of that project.

No. That's not not part of Southgate. That's east of 14th I believe.

From the Southgate thread.

Yeah, those cleared lots are north of 14th Ave.
For reference the red outlined building is already built in the photo.

From the Kings Crossing Thread - I think you can see the above project built on the left side of the pic:

The cleared lots are the Cedar Creek development...also by LedMac.

I believe the new BCHF building on the actual Southgate site was replacement for the old townhomes on the now cleared site.

LedMac is developing that area is what I meant in that posting but yes your correct that the north side of 14th is a different part but I feel like the entire area is part of the redevelopment as they are phasing the building up of the greater overall site.

And it will only get much better, especially when the Sears development is completed. Love to see the density along Kingsway from this development all the way to Metrotown.

Nice shot Zepfancouver! Any idea when the new residents can move in for tower 3 (Edmonds tower)?
Thanks a lot
