In addition to the props, also wanted to use this image to highlight just how prominent a location that curling club occupies. Reiterating my feelings on this from many years ago, the curling rink and parking all need to be rethought, possibly redeveloped along with the stairs going up the hill. I'm not saying all the parking should be removed, but I think we need a better anchor at that location. To better utilize the land, I continue to advocate for a multi-level terraced building up against the hill whose roof, a few steps down from the top of the hill, would function as an enhanced lookout.

While I'm really not a fan of wood construction condo buildings, I was happy to see some larger units in Cedarglen's Harvest Hills golf course redevelopment.

Several 2 bedroom units are 1050-1160sf, and they have a 3 bedroom plan that is 1250sf:

I also like that the houses and duplexes they are putting in offer a wide variety of sizes, including 1700sf town homes, and wide-format homes up to 2,700sf.

While these numbers may not seem exceptional, I think they're overall pushing Harvest Hills up a notch.

All-in-all, the biggest point is the slightly larger condos including a 3-bd plan.

When I see this picture, I can't help but think the construction of the Hyatt was an opportunity wasted. It could have been a much more bold design, and that location could have for certain allowed for greater density

I'm hearing The Dorian will be breaking ground soon, with a revised permit to reduce parking coming through. Calgary does need more higher end hotels and more event space, so very pleased with this.

Now that there is an active effort to take HBC private, I'm hopeful that in time, their Calgary building will become a podium to something epic!

Maybe we'll get the multistory petting zoo that's badly needed in downtown Calgary. It'll be a huge tourist attraction and help to lower our medical costs.
