Anyone know when STO plans to transition to the LRT integrated bus routes? Have they announced a timeline? It's it right away? Weeks or months later?

No timeline. I assume it will be during the general schedule update after the line opens. So if the line opens this summer, the STO will likely implement the new routes for September 1.

Thanks for the pics!

Took a quick walk on Queen yesterday. "O" decals have been installed at Lyon lanterns and the SunLife entrance of Parliament. The name of the stations have not been added. I wonder if the opted not to have the names on the lanterns with the "O". Other than Lees, where it was later removed, I've only seen a picture of the name on the ticket vending machine lantern at Blair, but with no "O".

No exact timeline, but they said they wouldn't transition immediately (need to wait for OC Transpo's transition to finish before they can really ramp up on their new routing). Though they have said route 20 will change immediately, just so they can test the route, and depending on how that goes they'll transition routes. But no timeline besides that.

I receive the STO's newsletters and alerts, and so far have not heard anything more than that.

Coincidentally, in the news today the STO was saying they will be installing more of these electronic signs at stops across the city.

At the moment I believe all Rapibus stations and park and ride terminals are covered. So they're going to be hitting major stops along boulevards now.

I took a close up picture of the walls yesterday; whether those fiber cement boards are covering the glass or not and if they are short term temporary or not is still, I believe, debatable.

Final elevator commissioning is also underway.

Train Testing

Testing and commissioning activities continue to progress:

Testing of the CBTC (train control system) continues and 32 out of 34 vehicles have been safety certified for the onboard control system.
The last two vehicles are forecast to complete the DPICO shortly (a test done to confirm that all equipment on the train has been installed in accordance with the specification and design).
All 34 trains have operated on the guideway as part of the testing process.
There is ongoing testing of coupled trains on the alignment. End-to-end performance testing is underway.
Commissioning of the communications systems at the Transit Operation Control Centre (TOCC) is ongoing.
Power system testing, requiring multiple vehicles travelling the length of the system, is ongoing.
OC Transpo’s Electric Rail Operator training is progressing.
Weekend operations are becoming a regular occurrence.

Canada Day is looking risky from that update. They won't even have all the vehicles and stations signed off by the end of April. Probably not even mid-May.

Let's hope testing goes well.

Indeed, and they might even be further along than the site notes.

I have long suspected that the website updates were somewhat in arrears, this twitter post from today seems to confirm that (website says 3 stations awaiting occupancy, tweet says only one left):

Like mentioned in the other post, Watson said just yesterday that there's only one station left.

This week's update also mentions that the last two vehicles are set to complete their tests "shortly". It's hard to predict but I hope shortly is < 12 days.

I think they've always intended to put the names on the lanterns, although the design has changed several times. The red O's were only put on recently, so they may still need to apply the names as well.

Last week it said 29 trains were done. They got from 29/34 to 32/34 in one week. The fleet may very well be completed next week.

I've long since noticed that over the past few years. Things described as "starting soon" that have already happened, for example.

The wording is that Lyon and Parliament are undergoing "final paperwork for occupancy permits"; their permits may have been granted literally Wednesday or Thursday of this week.

It has come to my attention while spotting, that trains between Hurdman & Lees, move at a very slow pace (not above 25km/h). I find that kind of curious. Does any body know or have an explanation about this ?

Thats weird when i usually spot those trains they are going twice as fast entering or leaving hurdman station.
