I'm baffled. But, I'm eager to hear about the area as seen through someone else's eyes. When you walk around that neighbourhood what is it that makes you think the immediate area "isn't the best either"? The one minute walk to the False Creek Seawall? The 3 minute walk to George Wainborn Park? The small park immediately across Howe Street? The neighbourhood cafes and restaurants? The Long Table craft distillery (best G&Ts in town) within crawling distance? The ferry dock to Granville Island? The palm trees on Howe and Beach? The nearby daycare? The Vancouver Aquatic Centre? Sunset Beach? Bus stop across the street? The Canada Line subway station a short walk away? The south facing slope? The views? The new supermarket, public amenities and art that will be part of the complex?
One downside to the immediate area for a while will be construction. There are several other major towers going up nearby. They're not being built there because the immediate area is undesirable.
Again, what do
you see when you walk that area? And when was the last time you did that?
