Why do you think nothing will happen with BMO?

^ Is that's what was placed on the lower roof NEC ?

I hope the occupants of those apartments directly facing it don't mind contracting legionnaires disease. What a terrible location for that.

That was a temp location from what I was told. It was supposed to move up ones the upper mech was complete. There was an additional location for it on the NE corner.

Well, i don't know any different. But never say never. Density and prime real estate are a thing. The only way is up.

I'm assuming the "book it" must be based on insider information wrt Aldritt, Gulf & Regency? If so, I don't really get the rationale behind why these won't materialize.

Why would Gulf even get involved if no credible plans existed to turn the park into a tower? Why not just leave it with Procura if the end game is a buy out from the city (which would be the only plausible alternative as this lot generates zero revenue). Doesn't seem like Gulf's M.O as a well known developer.

Did Regency buy up BMO just to leave it as an demo'd structure? With maybe some U/G parking?

And potentially more eyebrow raising would be Aldritt. Why swap land with the City, get rights over an inaccessible valley bank & hire Gene Dub to design a tower when you aren't planning on going forward with it at all...?

I believe they do this for fun. They like to waste resources on faux developments because developers love to burn cash.

Said some guy on the internet.

^ yeah maybe Gulf is being speculative, no idea. Aldritt I believe has the intention to build, whether or not they pull it off, we'll see.

Out of the first three though, I think there is a good shot with Regency/BMO. They've already spent considerable money acquiring/demo'ing. Building an underground parkade by itself I bet doesn't have the most attractive economics on it's own. They're local, proven to build even in hard times, my money is this one will definitely see the light of day. Will it be the first on that list of 7, maybe. But #2 or 3 to go up, definitely.

Can anyone tell me the status of this project:

https://beljandevelopment.com/projects/124-westmount/

Is it definitely going ahead? Or just in the planning/conceptual stages? Thanks!

Was briefly through town last weekend and really liked the crown lighting for the new Enbridge building. Very nicely and tastefully done. Also pleased to see how the Empire building was lit up.

They should focus all their efforts on the original City Centre mall and completely re-develop the Eaton Centre portion. Get a Simons in there and knock it out of the park.

Yup, gut the Bay, have Simons do an amazing reno of the space (complete with real street-facing windows!) and you have a brand new mall. I will miss having the assortment of products other than clothing that the Bay provides though, but that could be remedied with a different retail mix (i.e. downtown hardware store).

Well, keep an eye out for what we're planning at Williams Hall
