What a nice looking neighborhood. That's gotta be Aspen Woods.

I've always liked this little plaza, especially in the summer.

One of my favourite inner city spots is Poppy Plaza. Views of the river and downtown are great. Not a needle in sight.

You can't just look at something from the Beltline and say, hey that's nice without a backhanded comment.

These last three pics are great. They show the true Beltline and not the small negative part of it that people keep focusing on.

Night time comes every 24 hours so it’s really important that our city is safe everywhere for everyone. Such a shame that no one is focused on those things for the inner city.

What’s going on with all the weird avatars of lizards and all the weird posts? Is this like some kind of flash mob or something? Is it a special anniversary for something?

Exactly. Honestly, I think the inner-city wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t riddled with crime and the related going ons such as prostitution and drug use.

No, it's proof that some of the worst posters who claimed to have left this place have been lurking all along. They got pissed off at what happened yesterday and now are lashing out. It's like the old days except now they're even more immature.

Cleaned up the thread of the obvious trolls. But just a point that I want to stress:

This option trolling that is going on that seems to derail this thread incessantly has to stop. Townhouses in the inner city have their roles and have a price to command that. People want to live near where they work because long commutes can be a massive waste of time and it cut put families in danger if they are not able to meet family or work obligations. Time spent on yard work can be a massive drain for those with work obligations that get in the way. Effort spent on yard work can be too much for bodies that are faltering.

And on that note, this option trolling is now going to get looked at much harder. When someone posts an update on some inner city development, do not default into trying to bring up some other option. That house is useful to someone and it will be sold accordingly. Don't need to bring up other housing options because those options are not going to suit the people who will be needing that townhouse. So if you're going to default to that, just shut up. For the love of God, shut up or we can have a little time out so that you can work on developing more useful skills.

Completely 100% just my opinion but I think we've seen enough Crescent Road panoramas that don't relate to construction and single family 'mansions' that while technically construction aren't the spirit of the forum.

It's not up to me though, it's up to Xelebes whether he feels single family construction should be allowed here so I'll leave it at that.

Single family construction is completely fair. It is construction after all. IT also has some relation to skyscraper building in that many of the particular techniques used in single family construction either get applied to skyscraper construction and the inverse.

But for a moment, can we just respect each type of housing and talk construction, what will be constructed and what could be constructed?

It's a type of construction and many of us enjoy the photos. And why does it matter if it's single family housing? The majority of Calgarians live in such housing. Also, no one is complaining about condo tower construction. Let people post everything and self-filter what you don't want to look at.

Speak for yourself, I like those kind of updates. It was people’s need to dictate who gets to talk about what that caused this whole problem in the first place.
