They were supposed to break ground over a year ago, then it was last Spring.... I will believe it when I see it, unless there's some sort of substantial news to back up any prediction that they will break ground in the next couple of months.

I like it; it's nice.

If I could have changed one thing with the Cherry Creek Moxy it would be the orange colored panels for something closer to the Moxy color which would have blended better with the gray as well. Some shade of Magenta? Otherwise I like the playfulness just fine.

Befitting of the Y generation in a college town like Tempe, the best feature is the pool area where Yoga classes are held. Four stories it has a nice drive thru with enough room for several ride sharing vehicles for those heading out to an ASU game or event.

Early guestimates not to be taken seriously but 'last August' sounded real enough. But sometimes the T's don't all cross. It's not like local developers don't get projects done even if it's a heavier lift. A public announcement would formalize it so maybe they're holding their powder for a couple of things to drop.

Edit: Denver teachers and affordability in the CNN headlights.

Article implied it won’t be Whole Foods and Natural grocers is closer than safeway. It there another branded grocer operating in Colorado? They even already have a latinto cateeed grocery store right next door. That’s obviously not it because the implication is that the neighborhood is gaining something.

A sprouts or whole food should result in the resignation or albus brooks. Trader joes maybe?

Sorry I don't think the addition of a Sprouts grocery store in Cole warrants the resignation of our councilman. The Downing Super is a disgrace, should Albus resign for representing a district that allows such a poorly run, overpriced, low quality grocery store to exist in its boundaries?

Sprouts is by no means priced like WF. Their produce and meat are priced far better than Unsafeway and the quality of both is great in comparison. Sprouts' bulk items are also priced generously, not to mention the weekly sales for all kinds of items are a steal. KS has a store at 20th Street, not terribly far from Cole/Five Points. Trader Joe's typically builds stores smaller than 20k ft^2. The developer has said they are targeting a 30k sq ft store. Guess what size store Sprouts targets? https://about.sprouts.com/real-estate/site-selection/

All hail Sprouts, IMO.

Totally -- on the whole I find sprouts cheaper than KS or Safeway for 'healthy foods' -- produce, bulk bin items, fresh meats.

It seems to me that it is exactly the type of store that a lower income food desert needs and deserves. MUCH better than trader joes for Cole.

A Councilman should resign because he allowed a private developer select who he rents to?
Each comment above this I agree with. Sprouts is a great choice. Trader Joe's is decent but most food is prepackaged and no healthier than any other packaged food. Sprouts has well priced fresh produce and store brand products. Plus, Albus should be commended for working with Sprouts in their City Park location. He successfully encouraged them to hire people from the immediate area.

i don't think building a high end white person grocery store is what the five points ghetto needs. we need a regular store for regular people. another "unsafeway" is exactly what is needed, something affordable and close. sprouts is expensive AF an exactly the opposite of what my neighbors need here.
you tell me: https://www.businessinsider.com/whole-fo...n-oakland-california-2018-6#6-larabars-6

i'll say it again. if the grocery store relief albus is providing to the five points ghetto is a fucking sprouts that dude needs to seriously check his ambitions. or maybe he's taking the hancock model and telling the black folks he grew up with to go fuck themselves.

how out of touch can one person be?

wow.

when they open the sprouts, i guarantee you you'll never see more than one or two local black folks in there at a time. safeway will be and should be the choice for those who can get down there.

this is clearly a scam to cater to Rino and has nothing to do with Cole. Albus isn't helping all of the local poor Mexicans out here at all if it is Sprouts. It's really just about supporting all of the new Rino stuff and you believed the Cole angle? please.

poor people don't want and don't need that overpriced "organic" scamfood.

I know some info has came out recently about the Rev360 project, but here's another article:

https://crej.com/news/rev360-project-readies-to-break-ground-in-rino/

The fact it has taken this long for this project to get to 50% pre-leased (thanks mostly to WeWork), really makes me question the WTC project. It also makes me question the T3 project that is slated for the area. I think T3 probably has a nod to the next cycle, but I feel like WTC has stumbled through this cycle, while other comparable office projects nearby have been able to get off the ground.

the downing super is not relevant. nice logical fallacy to introduce that.

secondly, if you think sprouts has cheaper meat than safeway, i've got some really nice clean land to sell you up near louisville. don't worry anything about nuclear testing if somebody mentions it. all is well. really.

That is a strange observation. But since it's yours, it's accurate for you. The reality is that Sprouts is less expensive. From my experience, not buying Prosecco or Tom's toothpaste, or organic cat food, Sprouts is generally less expensive then Whole Foods and King Soopers. And always less than Safeway. I frequently compare the few things I always get at the Sprouts with what Safeway offers. Kale, apples, avocados, bananas, oranges, grapes and half and half are always priced higher at Safeway. Frozen meals are more at Sprouts, but that's because they are better quality, I believe.
And keep in mind, Albus is not providing this, the developer is. Why would you be so upset that "the black people he grew up with" get to shop a a place that emphasizes fresh produce at a decent price? I'd think this is the sort of thing that should be encouraged.
Another strange observation is classifying your neighborhood as a ghetto. It does not appear to look like a ghetto. It does have a somewhat higher concentration of lower income people, but far from a ghetto. It's clear that you're set in your ways and that you hate Sprouts. That's fine. Don't ruin is for the rest of us.

Guys..... city councilmen have limits to what kind of rules they can enforce on developers. We have zoning laws to try to mitigate unruly development, etc. But.... you can't force a developer to choose a specific business for their project. If Sprouts sees there's demand for their products in that part of town and there's money to be made, then they are going to put a store there.

I've already started a petition to have Albus impeached because he allowed a New York style pizza place to open on Welton when it's obvious that the ghetto would prefer to have a place to buy Totino's Pizza Roles. Seriously, what kind of yuppie scum is buying pizza?

The best option might be an Aldi store although I'm not sure when Denver is projected for expansion. Aldi also owns Trader's Joe's.

Aldi's intent is to spend $3.4 billion on 2,500 stores in the states by 2022. They have smaller stores, usually around 24,000 square feet. They are already popular in Wisconsin, Illinois as well as Florida and other Southern and Mid-Atlantic markets. They've opened over 55 stores in SoCal and with their distribution center nearing completion in Phoenix expectations are for 35 stores or more.

I really don’t know why people get the least bit excited about In and Out Burgers. I actually don’t eat beef, but I know their French fries suck. The only fast food restaurants I wouldn’t mind seeing in Denver are Zaxby’s, Raising Cane (there is one in Fort Collins), and El Pollo Loco. Not fast food, but I would like to have a Bahama Breeze here as well.

The ATT building on 14th Street is such a dead space. They really need to do something with the ground floor. If a retail or restaurant space wont work then maybe they could make an employee lounge, fitness center, etc. with a fenced in outdoor patio. The exterior seriously needs to be power washed. If it were cleaned I wouldn’t mind the windowless walls. It has kind of a brutalist look. Considering it just houses phone network and computer equipment, it really is out of place across from the DCPA and Convention Center, but oh well.

There was a Bahama Breeze by Park Meadows for a long time, but that went away...
