I am not certain why some posts are so negative about this location and commuters. This location provides convenient road connections to major employment centers in Richmond and Barnaby. Agreed transit in the area needs some expansion.

This forum generally isn't very pro-car in general... and industrial lease rates are souring (and moving away from Vancouver) due to lack of inventory. It doesn't make logical sense to remove more to build medium-density residential at this sort of location. There are a hundred other places in Vancouver like it that are composed of SFH that could use the density.

It's the kind of short-sighted thinking that people here dislike.

Also, the rail connection right now is more useful for freight traffic- it's also a corridor that is pretty low priority in transit expansions, so we're unlikely to see anything there for some time.

Isn't there a B-line proposed from Metrotown to Bridgeport? Would this go past Fraser Lands? Also, I could see the 100 being converted to a B-line in the next 10 years or so. If these two B-lines become a reality, then Fraser Lands would actually be pretty well-connected. Although it may be on the fringes of Vancouver, it is fairly central in the context of the region.

I drove by this site the other day. An impressive amount of work going on. I hope Translink has a plan in place to help these people get around without cars. A high frequency route to Marine Dr station is a must IMO.
