Sound cautious approach.

Some of those aren't too bad. I don't know if I'd call them stunning. 390 Colony compares poorly to that selection as well. The tower facade is bland (again, the windows blend in than add needed contrast) and the massing is an awkward arrangement of angles and planes. The one storey podium is just filling space to put it kindly. The overall look lacks coherence.

This has nothing to with the low percentage of glass. I welcome this style. This is simply not good.

Well, I like it. And I also started to appreciate the Inuit Art Centre.

At first I had a mixed feeling towards 290 Colony, but eventually I accepted it. I think it's important whay it's compared to. They also design residential buildings, and 290 Colony is residential. Compared to its other residential designs it adheres to their style

It's pleasant and glassy in these glossed up renderings. I'm still a little underwhelmed for a world leading hospital with global fundraising capabilities. Looks do matter as superficial as THAT sounds.

Last I checked (a minute ago on Wikipedia), they had 230 stores. The first ever opened in the ByWard Market in 1967. Still operational!

I love the podium and the building, I just can't imagine living in it with such random small windows. Looks more like an office or Medical type building.

Is that the only one you can think of? As far as hospitals go this expansion is one of the better looking ones that's out there. The Ziedler Atrium is nice as is Riverpoint but I'd put this on par with them. The fact it doesn't scream Hospital when you look at it is a huge plus in my books. Technically this is more administrative and office then hospital though.
