If I'm not mistaken, this is the same building company doing the other mansion that's to replace two houses.

They don't want it larger or looking too different from the existing houses.

I'm not a fan of -20C, but I can take a bit of cold so long as it's sunny. I'm looking down the barrel of this for the next 5 days. It'll be nice to be back.

It's fairly nice in Calgary right now. It's supposed to get to 9C later today but it is windy.

Hmm so knocking down two already large houses to build one twice the size is contextual? I’m confused!

I feel your pain. I lived in Vancouver for a couple of years. Beautiful place at times, but not so great other times. I never did get used to the cloudiness and rain.

I think you're confused about what lot was being discussed by MonctonGoldenFlames, where he mentioned the history of the lot and the first mention of the "contextual semi-detached". I do not believe this to have been two large houses. Here is the pertinent post, including with image.

Let me know if you require more guidance.

That kind of weather can be a downer. I spent a few months in London one winter and it was similar. Not as much rain I don't think, but nothing but gray. Calgary's climate isn't actually that bad. Outside of the odd cold snap, most of the year it's decent, and you can always expect sunshine.

also, when referring to a contextual development, it means that it is a more restrictive permit process and rules are a little tighter, but if you meet the rules, you get the permit and no opportunity for the community or neighbours to file any appeals.

Thanks for the updates Daemon

As for the exterior materials. I'm thinking stucco.
