Nice, this sounds like it could be one of the "Big" Projects we've been waiting to hear about. Blink once it this is one of them.

If they aren't expanding on Broadway, then where are they going to be expanding?

David Thompson and Mark Chipman team up again. This time to save a landmark building. That would cement their already good reputation. Actually, since TNS is nearing completion I'm wondering in true north is cooking up any new ideas. I wouldn't be surprised if they were already working on new stuff to help make the SHED a more appealing destination.

Could be a trick answer. Cuz that parking lo at the corner of Broadway/Main may have a Main Street address

Ages ago someone (Biff I think?) had mentioned there were plans for that lot. If I'm remembering correctly it was some parking with residential on top

JC Paving is rebuilding the sewer lift station in that park between Assiniboine and the river.

The proposal I had mentioned was for the parking lot just north-east of 300 Assiniboine at Assiniboine and Gary. I believe it died a quiet death as I haven't heard anything in years.

This wasn't one of the projects I had on my radar.

So what your saying is, when all these projects you are withholding from us are done... in the next few years, there will be no surface lots left downtown? YES!!!

Wawa expansion

These are just my ideas, but I like the idea of the curve sort of marking the entrance to Broadway and inviting the eyes to look down the street.
Personally, I would love to see 20 floors or so would be ideal. However, 12 - 16 more likely but still would help that corner greatly.
WAWA has expanded much over the years so this sounds very possible.

A Decade of Housing
Winnipeg firm 5468796 calls on architects to focus strategic attention on multi-family housing design.

etting up 5468796 over 11 years ago, we decided that until we could articulate what our work might be about, it would be better to remain silent. It was more important for us to simply get to work.

Over the first decade, our work has focused on the “missing middle” of multi-family housing in its many forms and ownership models, from refugee and social housing to market rate condominiums. We didn’t actively pursue this type of work, but rather, it was a result of our choice to stay in Winnipeg at a time when many of our colleagues left for greener architectural pastures. Our location in a “parochial second city” provided a quick feedback loop—from design to construction to response to critique—a context to visibly stand out or fail in. Serendipity and connections certainly played a role. Like most architects starting out, we have been shaped by the type of work we have been given, before we could shape it......
