Before we get started, both Darren and I want to say thank you to our fellow Vancouverites for all the open house notice cards we have received. We thought the best way to express our gratitude is to write up our event recaps with enough time for everyone to voice their opinion. Given that, over the next couple weeks, City Duo will do our best to publish 6 articles per week!

Unfortunately, that hectic pace means we might miss some meetings. For instance, Darren chose to skip the last item, 583 East Broadway, of Wednesday’s UDP meeting. Surprisingly, when I picked him up at City Hall, he seemed a little glad to leave, as one project had just received what is likely to be a fatal blow. He will tell you more about that this Wednesday.

Fortunately, he did not bring that bad luck to this event for a trio of buildings that will replace the Ashley-Mar Co-op. When we walked in, the room was certainly busy, but it was a very warm reception.
