thanks... we're looking at mid-may 2019 depending on as-yet unidentified tenant improvement work.

Some of those uses may also be on the second floor.

Any idea of the timeline for this one? When is construction expected to commence?

Very impressive project. Downtown Edmonton is on a roll baby.

For me a huge catalyst for downtown is the BMO site.

Kindy odd also that they still haven't clean up the site 100%.

I believe they are planning a mid-2019 start. I know they are anxious to get moving.

Yeah still some debris on the BMO site left over from demo last time I drove bye.

The Shift looks great! Probably my favourite proposal out there for Edmonton right now.

I haven't been in Edmonton for years and I'm wondering if any of the "black towers" in Edmonton Centre are still black or have they all been reclad? I know the TD Bank tower was reclad but don't know about the others. As an aside, I rather liked the black glass as I found it to be quite striking.

Yup, the only change on the outside has been a lick of paint and some windows punched out on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors.

On the inside, the escalators were pulled out to accommodate what's there now and raised subfloors were added in a few spots to level the elevations between the old east mall and the department store. The old conveyor system that ran your groceries from the basement of the Woodwards under 102A ave to the back alley pick up window in the back alley behind the parkade is all still there.

TD was re-clad in '98 to match TD's corporate aesthetic. City Centre tower (now Oxford) was re-clad in the same black but they added silver mullions to emulate TD (they shouldn't have done that IMO) and painted the pre-cast penthouse exterior. The old Oxford tower (now MNP) had the glazing only replaced in 2010 with the same black and also painted the penthouse
