These prolonged streaks always seem like they're never going to end, but they always do. (80s construction boom, 90s construction crash, mid 00s to now construction boom)
I wonder what Winnipeg's next tallest building will be?
Office seems unlikely, I could see a new office building or two getting built to meet the demand for prestigious modern-specced buildings much like TNS, but nothing enormous that would be over 25 storeys.
Condo seems unlikely too, even if we get a couple new downtown towers, I don't think we're likely to see another SkyCity monster proposal.
Hotel seems like a bit of a dark horse, Winnipeg has a lot of older hotels with fairly dated facilities and I could see a big new tower going up to take a lot of the business currently going to the Fairmont, Delta, etc. Although thinking it over, getting close to 500 ft seems like a long shot.
Apartment seems like the likeliest bet based on overall market conditions.
Institutional is another possibility I suppose, maybe some kind of governmental, health care, university, courts or other such proposal could just come out of nowhere and shock us all!
