Relevant conversation begins on page 268 of the thread; consensus opinion is that the routes make sense, but the actual "plan" is just Surrey First randomly doodling on a map for their reelection campaign.
Light rail on all these routes would cost $24 billion or more. With that kind of money, TransLink could pay for seven SkyTrain extensions and a B-Line for every arterial.
