Last time I visited Calgary, I stayed in an airbnb near their Chinatown (which was nice). But the Eau Claire Market was not exactly overcrowded.

The Eau Claire Market should be placed in the same league as the Robson Public Market: no big updates for decades and absolutely no retail synergy in that area.

For a relatively small city with hardly any residents living downtown, Calgary already has two major malls built right next to each other there. Did you go to the Core and Bankers Hall retail? Those places can be pretty packed. I believe when more people decide to move to the city centre, they will be even better.

I am looking forward to The Post Retail area, although again it would be nice to have interconnected retail centres all the way to PC Mall, and all the major streets surrounding the area revamped to look nicer.

Eau Claire market is going to be demolished and the land redeveloped for a mixed use plan approved and underway, so no use in reinventing the building.

Great! Thanks! I am pleased with the Starbucks and the Brown's. Not so much the Party City. We shall see I guess. I'm not sure if there area needs one of those.

I would think Dollarama and Party City have a bunch of crossover products.

it's good for people making the trip out to IKEA, they can hit a few places while out there like party city, bouclair home etc.

Deciem shutting down all stores in Canada due to alleged criminal activity. They operate The Abnormal Beauty Company, there's one in Metropolis Metrotown. Interesting read.

Holt Renfrew for Brentwood?

From the new Amazing Brentwood Leasing brochure mall floor plan.

The "Apartment" is HR, isn't it?

New mall plan (Level 1) showing "Phase III" as the south end of the mall
with an office tower, "Fashion Anchor", tower above it and the tower at the corner of Beta Ave.
The north anchor still says "Department Store" (can anyone tell by the internal layout which department store it is?)

looks likea Holt Renfrew with instore shops for Chanel, Dior, Balenciaga, Celine, Tiffany, Miu Miu, Bvlgari, Gucci, Fendi, Cartier. They have those downtown in store.

fashion anchor, it could be a large H&M or Uniqlo?

When would phase 2 open? hopefully not 10 years

And we were told high-end stores would never set foot in the Brentwood mall area by the so-called experts. These brands found here total more than those found in neighbouring downtown Vancouver's Pacific Centre.

Is it so far-fetched to consider Simons, or even overseas stores like Harrod's or Printemps now?

Not many other large "anchor" spaces left at Brentwood.
The south end anchor spaces are much smaller.
