The seven-story structural system will be made of steel and precast concrete planks. The façade will be clad with masonry of two different grey hues. According to the design firm, the lightness of the façade is intended to, “’camouflage’ and hide the vertical structure of the exterior wall. This is achieved by using metal panels that shift positions every other floor creating a playful and vibrant façade.” The industrial design for the ground-floor retail shops was inspired by the adjacent elevated train tracks.

The 75-foot tall structure will yield 156,660 square feet, with 81,840 square feet dedicated to residential use, 20,370 square feet dedicated to commercial use, and 22,870 square feet for a community facility.

In a new set of renderings, Kingsland Properties has revealed its latest development in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Positioned between Howard and Saratoga Avenues at 340-342 Chauncey Street, the project includes two ground-up condominium buildings that together will contain 13 units and an unspecified assortment of amenities.

Designed by Infocus Architects, one of the buildings will contain seven units and measure 6,350 square feet, while the second will contain six units and measure 6,140 square feet. The project broke ground in 2016 and is expected to reach full completion by next year.

Future occupants will have access to Manhattan and other boroughs via the J/Z subway trains at Chauncey Street and the C train at Ralph Avenue.
