This one will be interesting to follow.

The development partner is QuadReal who is using pension/government money to invest.

Their time/risk horizon might be longer than a smaller developer.

I mean even if the market corrects, it will just be back to or even higher still to where this thread and project started.

I'm not sure that anyone was projecting the increases in condos that we have seen over last couple of years.

You'd have to visitbone of their sales centres in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, or Taipei to find out

I'd love to see the statement I made speculating on the colour of Telus' glass before it was built.

As it stands this project looks great. If the glass turns out to be a greener hue that will take away from it a bit, but with the information we have today it's still one of the best designed mega-developments in the metro in my opinion.

You can declare this one a disaster before a glazing sample has even been produced though, that would be pretty on point for the level of quality I'd expect from your contributions to this forum.

Highly doubt it. Quadreal has a very large bucket of money to invest and their home town is where they'll want to make a splash.

The tower in the front looks like one in Toronto called Wellesley on the Park:

Also looks like Wave in Surrey.

I'll bet the angled podium glass ends up vertical (not a bad thing).

The wrap over the roof looks like Cooper's Pointe (may end up awful if they use flat panels.

I'd love to see the statement where I declared this one a disaster.

I don’t know about unreal. Interesting form, but for the love of god, please use a different colour glass.
I guess that's what you are referring to.

The amount of seafoam glass in this city has reached blighting levels, and I have every right to express my opinion. Odds are very high that the Oakridge towers will all be seafoam green.

You taking shots at other forumers is becoming more frequent, which makes your contributions not so stellar.. You're somebody I use to respect.

One of the other ones:

41st Ave frontage
from VancouverMarket.ca.

Looks to be quite pedestrian friendly.

Not sure about those funny looking cup-shaped balconies though.

Mushrooms grow quite well in our (usually) damp environment.

I was thinking that a good model for the "veil" to balcony edges would be the angled curtain wall on Trump Tower.

This is the best angle. The podium is very reminiscent of Parq Vancouver.

It looks like all the curved glass is custom made which means replacing any of it is going to be a bitch.
