Yeah it's Melbourne. To be honest, that area needs added density, the areas around the casino/nightclubs at the bottom of the pic are dead as a donkey even on weekends lol

Regardless, the added density and a supertall (way to go oz!) are a great addition.

That's just a preliminary render, just like here, who knows what will end up getting built...

Earnestly, this will likely be developed sometime in the next few years. I'd rather have the building renovated at the base, mostly around the colonades….the building is respectable with connections to the subway, a bank and 7-11, and a gym.

Insane that this'll (likely) be the new tallest for Midtown.

9. The Hub (Toronto): 280.7m / 921ft

Well...the preliminary report for the 30 Bay office tower was adopted by City Council on the 6th of June.

"The approval target timeline for the Final Report is anticipated to be in the first quarter of 2019."

That new Melbourne proposal is interesting, but I'd be wary of it ending up much like the renders. Something about it seems very awkward to me. Better than the surrounding towers, but that isn't hard to do. Modern Australian highrise architecture has to be one of my least favourite.

It looks very wide in this render compared with the blueprints. The new 299m makes me laugh.

The random boxes and mouths on these kinds of designs drive me nuts. Why? WHY? There have to be more elegant ways to break up large monolithic forms.

The podium is an improvement, although I wish theyd omit that protruding box. It should help contribute to the canyon effect.

I'm probably never going to be sold on this tower just given the affinity I had for the original design with its crown. That being said if they have to put in balconies, limiting them to indented rows on the North side is better than a lot of other possibilities.
