Privately owned public spaces are typically derided by other communities and rightfully so. This "pocket park" is a drop off zone next to a busy street. It cannot be compared to a proper park.
The rationale of the pocket is park is that it'll benefit the community because the parkade violates at least three elements of the Cathedral and Downtown Plans. They are literally just going to remove a negligible amount of concrete and put down some mulch.
What you're saying is that a few employees of the building might use it, for the few months of the year it's warm enough. But the bonusing program is designed to benefit the city, not the owners of the offending building.
At the
very least, Dream should have been required to spend money on Lucy Eley Park, that would provide a park for the users of the damn parkade
and the community.
The extend to which this forum will capitulate to any huge corporation's demands astounds me. There was a chance to make this street better and this parkade has just ensured that the entire block of Angus will forever be parking.
