The Montreal and Halifax skylines have seriously improved in the past 5 years. They have both become impressive in their own right.

Winnipeg is about to become serious as well.

Of course, Edmonton wins the medal for "most improved skyline".

How so? I mean, I love Winnipeg and I wish it does, but to my knowledge they don't have many significant high rise proposals in the work. And the ones they had seem to be dead or on hold (SkyCity Centre), no? Or did I miss something

They've already bulked up with a few mid-rises in the past few years, and now they're adding a 150m-40 floor residential tower in the middle of their downtown. A new tallest building since 1990. I'd say that's pretty exciting for that city. The true north square development is also pretty significant.

Winnipeg has a solid century's worth of development in it's downtown though. I'm always amazed at how spread-out it's downtown is, and how many parking lots and sub-par buildings are there. But it's headed in the right direction.

Winnipeg has not really changed in 30 years. It's kind of pathetic actually. 300 Main is a decent project now u/c, and True North Square is nice, D Condo was cool until ugly balconies were added. Not much happening there. Halifax is kicking Winnipeg's 🞵🞵🞵.
