Saint John is an industrial city. There's nothing wrong with more industry.

In a perfect world, that'd be clean high-tech industry. But I won't say no to a busier port and underutilized rail infrastructure returning to prominence.

Well said! Industry is the lifeblood of an economy. Likely the same person who wants all oil production stopped without understanding that oil products are an integral part of our daily lives....new restaurants and call centres are not going to save us. Industry, including manufacturing and taking advantage of our natural resources will lead to sustained economic growth and prosperity.

It's almost like it's not possible to have a real photo of something that hasn't yet been built.

Hope this is successful...

I really think they missed the mark on this one...I believe they were on the right track with a location in the core, guess we will see.

On the one hand I agree: Having a Moosehead craft brewery in the Uptown would have been a great opportunity.

On the other, Main Street West sorely needs some upgrading in both usage and frontage, so it's good to see it getting a bit more love even if the brewery addition isn't the friendliest in terms of street presence. It's something to do and something that gets more people out and about on that street. It's good regardless of where it is.

Ports are always going to be a vital piece of infrastructure. Investing money into the port in SJ is a pretty big deal given its size and economic impact as a whole. It's great to see.

The decision-makers are playing things pretty close to the chest, though, so I (and my coworkers) honestly have no idea at this point where we might end up.
As it turns out, my intuition on this matter was sharper than I expected.

We're presently in a temporary basement suite in Centerbeam, awaiting the renovation of the 4th-floor space bordering on Canterbury, which will be the new permanent home of T4G when completed.

They want to make it the new model office for the company going forward, so all signs point to a few months spent building in to make it a truly distinctive space. We'll see how it pans out.

Reminder to everyone to submit their comments to the Neighbourhood Plan draft before the deadline later in the month, this is very important (not to mention exciting for planning geeks like many of us).
