If he can't be bothered to understand what sort of business presently occupies the site, how can we take his complaints seriously against equally false impressions of the business vying to take it over?
Any idea where uptown T4G will locate ? Or how much square footage?
That should take a bite out of occupancy rate uptown

They haven't announced a choice of locations yet, but several vacant commercial buildings have been purchased recently that could be possible locations (that includes 200 Union, 22 King, 91 King) and 222 Water Street is still available as well if it were to undergo a large Reno.

Just curious to get others' thoughts....Now that 91 and 22 King are purchased, what is the next high profile uptown location that would/should be considered next in line for development?

Coast Guard/Fundy Quay
Former Paramount Theatre lot

The revitalization of Union Street seems next on the Uptown refurb agenda, which is great to see.

I dream of the day where the parking lot on the corner of Union/St. Patrick (next to Red Rose Tea) is developed into something, as well.

In no particular order:

- King's Square North, from the Paramount site to the former Dominion building
- Union and Waterloo
- Parking lots on Canterbury (at Grannan and at Princess)
- Prince William/Water between the Harbour Building and Steamers
- Coast Guard Site

Also, special mention to the former Jellybean Buildings site, which already has an active proposal.

Great article on one of the many people leading the uptown core to its revitalization. Wether you’re interested in the past ten years or not I suggest you take a look at the last two paragraphs!!

I'd get into trouble if I shared everything I know or what's truly on my mind, but...

We're on the lookout for a temporary space right now; could be something as simple as a hoteling space à la Connexion Works. My uninformed, speculative hunch as to the delay in looking for a more permanent home is that they might be waiting for Irving to vacate some prime office space once the new tower opens.

How many employees does T4G have in SJ? If I’m reading between the lines , I know Irving has a few floors in the Bell Aliant tower

You know, I can never remember the exact number but it's somewhere in the neighbourhood of 50-60, IIRC.

As for the Aliant tower, I do know that the company's preference is to not be in that space; they'd like to have something closer to street level. Centerbeam would be a good example of the style of space we're looking for. The decision-makers are playing things pretty close to the chest, though, so I (and my coworkers) honestly have no idea at this point where we might end up.

Right, hearing it here first folks. You're being moved into some empty space in McAllister Place. Almost-million dollar renovation announcement will be made soon.

Whereever you actually really end up, I'm sure it will work out and be a boon to SJ regardless.

You're only saying that because of TD Bank's takeover of the old Sears at Champlain rather than a (more appropriate) renovation to an existing office building in downtown Moncton.

Be careful, you might be right........

Thankfully, T4G has stated publicly that they intend to secure an Uptown location, so we won't be seeing a repeat of the situation in greater Moncton. The Uptown has a nice cluster of ICT-related businesses going on, and T4G's move will only strengthen it.

By taking Historica "to the next level" i'm assuming he means moving into the realm of new builds and away from doing just renovations. Looking for investors would go along with this and he mentions in the paragraph before about filling in the waterfront and vacant parking lots.

If I were betting i'd say the next project is an historic-area infill project.

I'm assuming this is the building in question? I saw a rendering for it a while back, but I can't seem to find it. Pip...

Like what JHikka said its most likely a project that starts from the ground up. The two locations are Canterbury are highly likely because of his previous talk about those locations but he may also be interested in getting involved in the refurbishment of Union Street. FYI I'm aware some of these would not be in the position to be sold

I’m assuming the Historica “tease” is an in-fill project in one of the recently RFP’d properties the City has on Canterbury, either the one at the corner of Grannan or Princess. They own half the Grannan block already, seems in-line with their other work to invest in the street again.

That being said, I guess it could mean “other level” as in divine, so they could be considering buying one of the [many] churches currently for sale and converting it into one of their residential projects.

I hear that the City Hall move is "on hold" as the building is "in play"? Not sure what this means - anyone have any info?

It was announced past year that City Hall will not be moving. And instead renovating the interior, and some of the exterior on ground level.
