Can someone from Montreal settle this and tell us what that image is showing? Because I'm not getting that at all!

Well that's much better than just a static image, no doubt

It's ONE image from a 20-minutes animated projection depicting moments in Montreal's history.

And it looks like Jesus, but it is a Jesuit missionary (see the movie Black Robe) - they founded the city, hence their presence in this video. I don't remember the context though (all that fire).

So in resume:

- Not a mural

- Not Jesus

Don't visit Montreal if religious iconography upsets you so deeply. The sight of the Basilica might give you an aneurysm.

Neither am I. I see a Jesus figure in front of a sunset.

Edit: I see it has been settled and it is a Jesuit priest.

It's hilarious how Quebecois zealously defend expressions of Christianity in the public domain as heritage or art and rail against all non-Christian religious expressions in the public domain under the guise of secularism.

The guys over at Skyrise are more up to date with photos than anything here on SSP, since the Calgary sub became a shell of itself.

Why? Is the Basilica full of Jesus figures in dark cloaks surrounded by flames? That is how I saw the screen capture and that's why I asked WTF it is? Note: I would have just said Jesus without the figure if I was only referencing Him.

That's a great idea. I wouldn't mind something like that on one of our blank walls.
