This is probably an unpopular opinion but I think I may be shifting my opinion as both get nearer to completion: I think I might prefer Telus Sky.

^I find both buildings are very dependent on the view angle whether they look cool or awkward. They are at least interesting and that is a great thing for both cities.

^ I haven't really seen Telus Sky close enough in person to say, But Vancouver house definitely changes dramatically depending on the viewing angle. At certain angles it very much has the appearance of an optical illusion, and sometimes it looks a little awkward. It's a beautiful building but the shape is a little disconcerting to me from some angles

Not sure if that’s unpopular or not. I seem to recall about a 50/50 split on opinions.

Yeah, I agree with that. I think that Vancouver House is a little more vulnerable to this because its dramatic features are at the bottom of the building and therefore entirely blocked from some angles.

Anyway, both amazing buildings (among the best in Canada). Just nitpicking at this point.

I prefer the white colour and details on Vancouver House. The office portion on Telus Sky is bland. It's coming together as more of the featured stepped top is erected. The lower residential ceiling heights blend in well too. Both have equal number of less than stellar "back sides".

I agree with you on this. Wait until the white protective film is peeled off and the stainless steel & copper finishing is revealed. I've seen a few sections done already and it's pretty stunning. This building will look quite different than it does now when that film is removed.

Thank god it's not white. We have enou8gh white in our skyline. We could actually use a lot more black towers to get some contrast going.
