I would guess either 1301 Market or Comcast 3 (19th and Arch) breaks ground in the next 2-3 years. I suppose a wild card could pop up though.

Comcast has office spaces leased throughout the city. If and when they decide to consolidate people from those buildings due to lease expiration or whatnot, then Comcast 3 will happen. Also, Comcast 3 could also be built on its own merit if current projections of people to fill up CTC were underestimated because of previous hiring models, but the reality of current growth prospects due to mergers and acquisitions deems a needed third tower. As they finish up for CTC, I'm hoping that Comcast 3 tower will be announced later this year. LPT is probably itching to building another one for Comcast and collect rent.

Pretty neat we have the largest Cable operator in the US based in Philly.

Let's hope rumor becomes truth. My money would be on this being another supertall before the first supertall comes to fruition from SY.

In "the city" or the "inner city" as you put it when referring to schools, and what's the difference in your eyes?

Inner city, if you must know. Specifically someone who worked at Comcast and now works at the Franklin Institute, and a resident of Fairmount who is closely involved with real estate.
Why are you coming at me like this? Why is it such a big deal that I said "inner city?" It's just a term I use to describe anything in Philadelphia's densely populated areas, AKA center city, South, West, and North Philly, NoLibs, etc

I'll take a shot (no pun intended). "Inner city" has a historically negative connotation to it. Like inner city kids, inner city gang, inner city crime, and so on.

My guess would be the first new build at Schuylkill Yards, or another building in the science center. But that might not be "big" in your eyes.

If I could just snap my fingers and make it happen, I'd say 1301 Market.

I so want to believe this, but "multiple people throughout the city" as your source, I'm sorry, falls short of credible. I get "protecting the source", not asking you to reveal. Just wish there were more to go on. This rumor has been circulating in one form or another for years.

Based on everything I've heard from Comcast senior leadership and what they tell employees about company strategy, I'd be shocked to see a new tower dedicated to Internet service. Without going into too much detail, Comcast wants to invest in expansion of it's product line to support Internet (i.e. Xfinity Mobile, which is priced as a retention tool for Internet users - free basic phone service for all Internet subscribers - instead of a true profit center into itself).

I wouldn't be surprised if Comcast announces another building the coming year, but it won't be tied to Internet service. Now a focus on the Internet of Things, voice recognition (improving what already exists on the remote) or something really or AI, I could see. Comcast is behind a lot of competitors in developing the consumer technology of the future (thus CTC) and as long as we're making money, they're going to keep throwing it into R&D for new product offers.

People sometimes lose sight of the fact that Comcast now owns NBCUniversal. A few years ago there was speculation/talk that eventually many of the corporate functions would eventually be transferred from RC to a new Comcast facility (here). This may be a bit of a remote possibility now, but not any more so than many of the other put forth reasons for a 3rd tower.

Call me pessimistic, but I see that as likely as Berkshire's subsidiaries relocating to Omaha.

If you want to categorize < 100 Line employees as "Lots", relative to Comcast's overall size in CC, then OK.

Line employees? Maybe you are just privy to different departments than I, but that is definitely not what I am seeing. Why would you assume line employees, and less than 100?
