I posted earlier this year that I knew an architect working on this who said that the plans had "changed significantly" but that this project was still on.

That was a pre-recession proposal that thankfully fell through. I just wonder how many people lost their deposits...

A lot of people in Tampa got burned badly when his crappy proposal there also collapsed.

I had an early meeting today with a software company at 1350 Spring Street (Nan restaurant building) across from the proposed Metlife Metropolitan Center. The CEO of the company I met with whom has 350 employees there today and plans to expand to 500 in the next year. However, he said the building's owner is planning to raze the building in the next year. Therefore they are looking now for new office space. Hmmmmm.....

Does anyone know what they are doing to 1280 West Peachtree? Are they completely repainting it? It looks much nicer than I remember it.

1105 West Peachtree - I noticed there is a sign for tree removal. Has that always been there?

I agree that this building is a letdown. The artwork looks amateurish. And buildings that require lighting tricks often suffer from neglect. The bulbs burn out and are not replaced. Both the Downtown W and Twelve building come to mind.

LED lighting can last 10+ years and is much less susceptible to failure-- so in this respect building lighting reliability has improved dramatically. Nighttime lighting can significantly improve the vitality of buildings and the urban environment--
As far as the building goes, cuts in the amount of glass and a lot more blank wall do make it an architectural disappointment.

Are they trying to make it sound like they encountered unexpected granite? - this was well-known before the Symphony Center project was being proposed here. Yeah if people are surprised by granite here it makes me wonder how well they know the area. This has been known since well before Europeans came into the scene.

But that is sort of a throwaway line and it's lol local journalism so maybe it's not that big of a deal.

CIM aims to widen the sidewalks along Ted Turner Drive, formerly known as Spring Street. It also plans to add pedestrian access on the ground floor and viaduct level of the adaptive-reuse project.

It’s also calling for the Nelson Street bridge to be reopened to create direct pedestrian and bicycle connection to the Castleberry Hill neighborhood.

You wouldn't happen to work for Cooper Carry? Approximately 3 months ago I posted a Vimeo video from Cooper Carry that looked like it was potentially a visionary proposal for the 17th and West Peachtree site. They have since taken it down. I didn't take a screenshot, but I remember it looking like Charlotte's Tyron Place proposal.
