That said I highly doubt Goodale will lose. If he was able to win with the highly lacklustre Dion and Ignatieff at the helm, it feels like hell have that seat until retirement. After he goes, I wouldn't be surprised to see it flip to a different colour though.

I don't want to get too off-topic, but I would also wager that he'll win in the next election if he runs again (which seems likely). However, I would also bet that Erin Weir will lose his seat, assuming he is not forced out by the NDP before then. I'm not commenting on the veracity of the allegations against him, but he faced an uphill battle regardless of his own personal circumstances. He squeaked by in 2015 on the back of redistricting and an anti-Harper wave, and I don't think he'll be able to do it again, since elections are mostly about parties now, and less about individual candidates (except for the star ones like Goodale).
Once Goodale resigns, I would expect his seat to turn Conservative, likely, or at the very least be competitive between Conservative and NDP, with the Liberal vote being nearly destroyed.
