Maybe that's why Capital Point in Regina is a large pit and will be for a long time. Fortress just wants to make sure no spirits remain for their brand new building.

All rooming houses in this city are 🞵🞵🞵🞵. Busted down doors, filth, garbage, broken windows, broken everything, meth heads, drunks, 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 and shitting everywhere and then of course, there's the bedbugs. And cockroaches and other vermin. Wouldn't wish that nightmare on my worst enemy.

They get to charge $569.00 a month for on average 10+ rooms in one house every month. You do the math. They should be required to provide on site security with those numbers.

there's two horror rooming houses on west broadway that I would love to see demolition fences around ASAP! they must account for a good % of the ambulance/fire calls in that neighbourhood on any given day.

201 Spence back up and running after [DELETED] tried to burn it down? Both houses on each side sustained significant damage for that happy event. Thankfully, no one died.

i bet if u went into those houses the repairs are not to code
the landlords someytimes sell and someone els comes in and does a 🞵🞵🞵🞵 repair and contues the cycle. whys the city go after jo blo for a illegal portch addition but refuses to inforce its own flipping fire code and livability by laws on these properties argg witch i would cosider a larger public safty issue then the lack of a permit in the burbs

No question rooming houses run by slum landlords are bad for tenants and neighborhoods, but where will people go if we tear them all down? Better enforcement of fire and building codes would be a start, but we also have to build alternatives because there is a need for this kind of housing.

As an alternative, a few of pocket suites have been developed in the West End. A bit nicer than a rooming house (private washroom facilities), but still trying to fill the need currently met by rooming houses.

By all means, let's keep tearing down dangerous substandard rooming houses, but we should also give some thought to where these people will go.

Well, looks like I've been evicted out of the rooming house in St. Vital as of 15-March.

I called the cops on Schizo. Aff. with Psychosis housemate because since the other Jim left here one month ago he was makking threats at me. He just puts on an act and smiles at the cops. They can't do anything when he's acting "normal".

I don't know where I'm gonna be. Probably downtown somewhere.

Not 55 yet, so I can't go to a 55+ for another 3 yrs.

EIA allows $563 / month for Rent. I'm currently paying $475 + $25 for Internet.

Too bad I don't have more $ from EIA because I'd be able to move to one of those newly consructed apartments.

Perhaps Trudeau will unleash some "housing" money for the Unemployed.
