I could totally get behind the Winnipeglympics. We will showcase a made-in-Manitoba approach to the event that highlights our legendary frugality by hosting events in venues originally built for the 1967 Pan Am Games and repainted for the 1999 Pan Am Games.

Infrastructure improvements will consist of improved shelters at stations along the SW BRT route, and a fresh coat of asphalt on Pembina Highway. Oh, and improved wifi at the airport terminal.

The athletes' village will consist of a bunch of 3 storey walkup infill buildings scattered around Osborne Village, later to be converted to market-priced apartments. All catering to be handled by Salisbury House.

This could be our moment!!!

Medical clinic going up at 443 Academy where Moule used to be. Anyone know how to find the drawings on the city website. It’s going for a series of variances.

I wonder if the City contribution to the project was conditional on a certain level of private investment actually taking place. As I recall it was pitched as a four tower development at the time that the public support was made known.

The open data portal on the City web page lists the conditional use application, but the agenda for City Centre Committee meeting on Jan 30 hasn't been posted yet. It will have the plans. Probably sometime late next week.

I thought Canad had issues of being spread too thin and couldnt afford it?

Speaking of Canad, their Fort Gary Express location is now completely gone. Site clean up continues.

I was at an event at the Four Points On Pembina...great building, staff and food. There has been whispers of a possible new expansion there.

I would take what used to be at that corner pre-TD Tower without hesitation.

I will compromise and take 201 Portage but keep the rest of the corner intact since we pretty well knew the 2 nd tower proposal doesn't happen in Winnipeg

201 Portage could have been built where the McIntyre block was, and the entire corner would have been complete.

If the Boyd, Winnipeg Clinic, Medical Arts were to be combined into one, new Medical Arts building, where would it go? How tall would it be?

Could a 20-25 storey eye catching new hi-rise dedicated to various Dr's offices be constructed downtown? Something that went to the sidewalk of Graham Ave.? I'm thinking of something even nicer than the new Manitoba Clinic.

It would have some underground parking, but not too much because, you know, we have (cough cough) "rapid transit" to bring parents and patients in to see the Dr.

I went to the Lab in the basement of the Winnipeg Clinic last Summer. The space is really looking its age now. Maybe time for something different, updated, for the Internet age (better electrical).

There is some space (cough cough) on Osborne St., just north of the church and near St. Mary Ave. for a largish buiding there, demolish all of those medical buildings (already zoned) from the Age of Tubers (Tuberculosis 1940s)...Else it could go in the 'burbs.

not sure if massive medical clinics downtown are a good idea. my parents who have lived in "suburbs" their entire lives, age 79&81 who still drive are spending quite a bit of time at MB Clinic for eye appointments and having to navigate downtown streets and find parking and pay for parking is not a pleasant experience for them. it wouldnt be a big deal for me or many of you, but locating these elsewhere might be preferable.
