I used to live on Peachtree Valley. I'd regularly walk down to midtown and I always thought Brookwood was one of the ugliest stretches of Peachtree in the city. It's slowly getting better, but damn there's so many ugly building and lots on that tiny stretch.

Pretty sure my loaner laptop is dying. Text is appearing seconds after I type, google basemap selection and streetview man is not available, and the google maps menu button does not work for me. I need to get my regular computer back, it's driving me nuts

3k, any incling on when we might hear about 1125 Peachtree? Selig's been teasing us on their website for over a year now it seems with little to no news.

Today is the first day Selig publicly acknowledged the project via the ABC article. Prior to that, it was just mentioned on their website. So I think there is definitely something brewing. Not to mention, Selig probably is the biggest landholder in CoA so they have deep pockets and relationships with bankers and real estate brokers.

BTW - I found out this week the JLB Partners project on West Paces next to Whole Foods is moving forward. Buckhead Village is going to be where it is at in a couple years. You have residential, restaurants, retail, office and entertainment in densely packed quarter mile radius.

Speaking of Selig, I think they left us a couple Easter eggs in the pic. The buildings I highlighted with arrows look be on the West side of Spring Street. There is nothing there today, coincidentally Selig owns those lots. Hmmmmm....

I am glad Selig has a strong presence in Atlanta. A lot of our best additions have come from them.

And you might be right about Buckhead Village with the assumption that the bars do not get bought out and redeveloped. If the bars go, the place is merely a place to sink your $$$. Expensive rent, expensive restaurants, no decent public park (frankie allen is subpar and hardly frequented, IMO), and disjointed from the rest of the city. Other than West Midtown, Decatur, the stretch of the BeltLine by Edgewood Ave, and Midtown, I'm not sure who would really rival it. Each area has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Loudermilk Cos. Starts Process for New Condo Building in Buckhead Village

With Pre-Sale Success at The Charles, Developer Plans Residential Tower on State Bank Site
Buckhead's busiest developer likes the pre-sales pace at one condo tower so much that it's already planning a second right down the road.

Loudermilk Cos., a blue-blood Buckhead developer founded by Atlanta business legend Charlie Loudermilk, is in the process of planning a new condo tower near The Charles, a condo Loudermilk is building now, said Robert C. "Robin" Loudermilk Jr., president and CEO, told CoStar News on Thursday. "We're working on another building at 415 East Paces Ferry," he said. "We're in the discovery phases for a condo."

A Loudermilk entity acquired 415 East Paces, a three-story, 26,570-square-foot bank building, in 2012, for $3.5 million. To make way for the new development, Loudermilk said the existing State Bank & Trust Co. branch and office would be relocated this fall.

The site is adjacent to 371 East Paces, a 120,000-square-foot medical office building that has attracted several medical tenants including Piedmont Medical and Peachtree Dermatology. Next to the MOB, Loudermilk is developing 359 East Paces, a 124,670-square-foot boutique office building.

Across the street, at 309 East Paces, Loudermilk renovated the former headquarters of Aaron's Inc. and created about 80,000 square feet of office space being leased by Lincoln Property Co. Southeast.

Loudermilk's condo tower, The Charles, is under construction across from Charlie Loudermilk Park, at the confluence of Peachtree, Roswell and East Paces Ferry roads. Robin Loudermilk said crews are starting to pour the slab for the 18-story, 57-unit ultra-luxury condo tower. The Charles is scheduled to deliver in spring 2019.

Loudermilk counts 24 sales so far, meaning The Charles is 42% pre-sold. "We're well on our way," Robin Loudermilk said.

Exciting news! Buckhead Village is unrecognizable from just a few years ago. I just wish Selig would start putting their Buckhead parcels into play...

A little bird told me their shopping center across from Trader Joe's is in the planning stages.

Which parcels does Selig own in buckhead?

And that’s exciting news about another loudermilk project! You have to think the condos would fetch far less though not being on Peachtree. While it could be in the middle of buckhead village when it’s built out in its entirety, at its current state the proposed development is closest to a hoard of underutilized property near Peachtree and piedmont.

It's getting hard to keep track of all these multifamily projects in the Marietta St/Howell Mill Corridor.

Residential project planned beside Bocado restaurant in West Midtown

Quote:
A 300-unit multifamily building would rise along 8th Street, according to a site plan submitted to the city.
Quote:
The project would also include a new office building with ground-floor commercial space next to Bocado, an upscale joint known for its burgers and cocktails. The building with Bocado would remain, says the application.

Wow! This is a pleasant surprise considering what we thought could have happened.

I think with the official announcement of the new Westside Park, I expect to see a lot more announcements of projects and developments in that area. Hopefully stuff can actually begin like the Star Metals project and the GA Tech re-development.

$400M gift to Emory ensures world-class health care in Georgia

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/news...to-emory-ensures-world-class-health.html

Quote:
The $400 million will go toward building a new Winship Cancer Institute Tower in Midtown and a new Health Sciences Research Building next to the existing facility off Clifton Road.

While plans for both initiatives are preliminary, the size of each building is expected to be between 200,000 and 400,000 square feet. Both projects could break ground in 2019 and be completed by 2021 or 2022.

Emory is still conducting feasibility studies, but the new Winship tower could rise at the corner of Peachtree Street and Linden Avenue, adjacent to the Emory University Hospital Midtown campus. The site is currently a surface parking lot.

Spectrum on Spring

Cheesy name, underwhelming architecture and high $ rent.
