That's actually a possibility. The Trinity project will have parking for the multi-use aspect of the project but no way it will go 8 floors down. I think Trinity will build the first rental tower in no time once they get started.

Even if Trinity starts construction (not sewer relocation) ASAP, it won't happen. The Icon will be into typical floors by the end of January, and then should progress upward at 1 floor a week - unless they actually stop construction. They should hit 45 stories sometime around the end of November. The Icon should have the tallest building crown for at least the good part of a year.

I drove by today and they almost finished the second floor. I think once they finish with podium the building will rise one floor per week.

With the speed this project is going , I think you mean 1 floor per MONTH

I believe concrete cures 2-3 times slower when it's minus 20-something degrees outside. They'll get there, don't worry! Also remember, about 40 of the floors have intricate and curvy concrete work, so we need to accept that it's probably not going to move as fast as other high-rise projects! I'm most excited for the ground floor commercial space to open for business! I wonder what floor they will be at when that happens. What's it going to be?! A restaurant I hope! (kidding)

There isn't much intricate or curvy left in the new design. It's now a pretty stock standard glass box with some funny balcony placements to give it a little texture.

Curvy doesn't really slow things up that much as long as the tops and bottoms are flat.

As for temperatures, new concrete needs to be insulated to maintain 5C (ideal is 10-15C). Hot weather curing is actually more detrimental to final compressive strength than cold weather.

The timeline does seem long for this project but just remember this is not your typical bank financed condo project. There is no interest in paying Bellai overtime to work crazy hours to complete a floor per week compared to a full fledged bank financed condo project.

The majority of units sold so far are from related Claridge trades involved with this project.

Agreed. I was stuck in traffic on Thursday about 5 pm heading WB on Queen Elizabeth Driveway near Preston and thought the same thing. Will work go on next week between Christmas and New Year.?
