Impossible to say when it was taken, but this photo depicting bluish/white lighting extending the entire length of the tower was uploaded 3 days ago:

Nice one, thanks.

Thanks for the info.
I'll keep an eye out for them running up and down.

Wealthy locals, American billionaire among Trump Vancouver condo owners

http://vancouversun.com/business/local-b...naire-among-trump-vancouver-condo-owners

the american billionaire is: Kingston Technology co-founder John Tu

Quote:
For example, American tech billionaire and philanthropist John Tu paid $7.6 million for units on the 55th, 52nd and 43rd floors, apparently spending more than any of the tower’s other buyers. His condos are now listed for rent at $10,500, $9,500 and $6,000 a month. Tu co-founded Kingston Technology, headquartered in Fountain Valley, Calif., which makes computer memory chips. Forbes pegged him as being No. 90 out of 400 American billionaires with an estimated net worth of $5.9 billion in 2016. He declined to comment on the purchases.

Shouldn't have a problem paying the $114k vacancy tax when those never get rented.

Did some digging online and found that they're all rented albeit lower at 9000, 8800, and 5000

There's a reason why they remain billionaires: they're not dumb when it comes to money.

The lights have been on for the last several nights. They look good and have been playing around with a lot of different schemes.

Mr Tiah of Holborn did mention that they were being worked on earlier last month.

Electrified rail lines in BC, never thought I'd see a pic with that in it.

yup, 7 custom built electric engines to pull the Tumbler Ridge coal trains. built in the early 80s and 1 has survived as a museum piece. if anyone is interested some info about them.
GMD GF6C Engine
as a comparison, SkyTrain is 650V DC power, those engines used 50,000V AC.

- best colour that I've seen it in.

It's been lit up white every night for the past week, seems like they've worked most of the bugs out. Still a small strip that appears to be missing on the bottom of the south facade though.

Two weeks ago the tower was lit up in multi-coloured hues that were moving up and down. Then they were switched off for a couple of days and I was like "Oh no, not again!". Glad they are back in the stationary ice-blue colour this week: hope this time its permanent.

Hotel Common Areas Plagiarized/Inspired

As the hotel portions of the Ritz Carlton in the previous iteration was designed by world renowned interior designer Yabu Puschelberg, you can expect their fees to be sky high. Now with Trump, they were axed and a different firm was hired; I believe Box Interior Design.

However, if you take a look at the as built hotel lobby bar as well as the spiral staircase and then take a look at other Yabu Puschelberg projects such as the Park Hyatt New York, you can definitely tell the similarities between the two, albeit 'cost engineered' and a less refined and elegant version.
