I expect this will be a common mistake, but, you actually only have to look at them to see that this is wrong; the person who wrote this must not be from here:

The 63-storey Trump International Hotel and Tower in downtown Vancouver is the province’s tallest, followed by Vancouver’s Shangri-La skyscraper, at 62 storeys.

Maybe because sunset is so late this time of year.

The lights were on last night, all night. Upper floors only; fluctuated from white LED's to red then white again...wooooo. Must have been for the One-Five-O.

Wonder if they'll do a rainbow this weekend?
I recall someone saying it had a rainbow during testing.

Does anyone else think this is the nicest building in Vancouver?

Hell no. Right across the street we have Shangri La. That alone is 10 times nicer. The roundness of T. doesn't hold a candle to the sharp angles of S-La.

I prefer Trump Tower as well. It's one of my favourite buildings in the city. That might change when Vancouver House is complete.

First Baptist is going to be a front-runner, too, I think.

Generally not a fan of twisty towers, so I prefer Shangri-la. Kengo Kuma and Vancouver House will likely be my new favorites

Boils down to personal preference.

I like the base of Trump far better than Shangri-La or any other tower.

The shaft of the tower looks sleek but the top is disappointing.
I think it needs a crown or lighting feature up there.
Same could be said for Shangri-La.

One Wall Centre's new nighttime lighting is a standout for me.

When I posted that it didn't even cross my mind to compare it to Shangri-La since I don't consider them in the same league architecturally. Almost every building has sharp angles except for Trump so your criteria for that which is exceptional seems pretty ironic. The only architectural feature Shangri-La has is a 5 story cube sticking out of it which I consider small potatoes next to an entire building that twists. The only competition I considered even close to Trump are One Wall, The Qube and of course the Marine Building.

About the vision and process to get to the completion of this Vancouver icon.

https://youtu.be/DljsOzdgEds

In this day and age, Vancouver certainly needs the vision, hard work and input of outsiders to help make it a much more interesting city to live in.

Saw one strip from Vanier Park last night - this time blue.

Looked better than the green.

Hmm.
The lights do go to the top. They are not static though, so this image caught it at a moment when it hadn't reached the top, or was beginning a descent. It's quite random. I assume that randomness helps with complaints.
